SSP Durham Regional Event May 2018

When:  May 10, 2018
Scholarly Communications in the Triangle

Please join us for “Scholarly Communications in the Triangle: Key Players & Speed Networking” the next SSP regional event in Durham, N.C.

May 10, 2018
3-5 pm
Research Square
601 West Main Street, Suite 102
Durham, NC

We’re switching things up for the next regional meeting to give attendees the chance to learn more about the scope of the scholarly communications field in the Triangle and network with other attendees. How it’ll work:

  1. Representatives from various presses, libraries, and editorial offices will open the event with lightning talk presentations (5 minutes each) on their organization.
  2. We’ll have a short break to organize into speed networking tables and run through the rules for the speed networking round.
  3. Speed networking will start! Each round will last 3 minutes and you’ll get a chance to meet employees from various organizations within the Triangle’s scholarly communications field, including the lightning talk presenters.
  4. Following the speed networking, we’ll have free time to mingle over snacks and drinks.

We look forward to seeing you at this event! If you attend, make sure to bring business cards and questions for others in the scholarly communications field. We would be glad to provide reasonable accommodations to any individuals needing assistance during the fast-paced speed networking round. Please contact Jocelyn Dawson at jdawson@dukeupress.edu

Ten local groups will present lightning talks: Duke University Press, J&J Editorial, Morningstar Law Group, NCSU Libraries, Oxford University Press, Research Square, Ringgold, RTI Press, Technical Editorial Services, and UNC Press.

Molly Hansen, Assistant Marketing Manager, Oxford University Press
