How to Increase the Discoverability of Open Access Books for Researchers?
“The more he looked inside, the more Piglet wasn’t there”.

Friday, March 9, 2018
6-8 pm
Peter Lang
Schlüterstraße 42, 10707 Berlin

A.A Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh might not have been an academic piece of work, but this short sentence managed to capture the curiosity, willingness and frustration that goes into a futile search for something. Looking for and, even more importantly, finding OA books proves to be a challenging endeavor. How do OA books get discovered? Through which channels? How can we make sure that they are living up to their full potential? How can we work better with different stakeholders to ensure the maximum visibility for OA books? What changes in workflows are needed?

In this panel discussion, we will discuss the Piglet syndrome from various points of view: that of a librarian, a publisher, an author, and a funder.

Alex Naydenov, PaperHive
