  • 1.  Notification of pre-print server

Is anyone adding a notification to published content of earlier versions on preprint servers? Is there a consensus on the appropriateness or need for such? Thanks!

When we publish a paper that was deposited in bioRxiv, the paper includes a footnote with the DOI of the preprint version.

    Hi

Crossref requires that the preprint service links to the version of record in the Crossref metadata - https://www.crossref.org/services/content-registration/preprints/

Here's the metadata via our REST API (the response will be in JSON) - https://api.crossref.org/v1.0/works?filter=relation.type:is-preprint-of

A link from the version of record back to the preprint is up to the publisher. For those that choose to make the link some best practices would be useful (i.e. where to put it) - something to look into!

    Regards,
