Hi everyone, I wanted to let you know about NISO's new annual conference, NISO Plus - a successor to/expansion of the former NFAIS annual conference, it will take place at the Lord Baltimore Hotel, Baltimore, MD on February 23-25, 2020.
Our goal is to make this new event as inclusive as possible of everyone working in the information community - publishers, vendors, librarians, archivists, product managers, metadata specialists, electronic resource managers, and others. It's a unique opportunity for us to collectively work on solving our community's existing problems, and to kickstart the conversations we need to have in order to prevent future problems from occurring.
We want you to be part of those conversations!
We've structured the meeting around four tracks - NFAIS Foresight, NISO Now, Conversations, and Extras - and each 90-minute session will be equally split between presentations on each topic and audience discussion of it, culminating in some concrete next steps for NISO and our community. We'll be covering everything from altmetrics and AI to standards, statistics, and Plan S, so there'll be something for everyone! And, in keeping with our goal to be inclusive, you'll get to hear from people with a wide range of perspectives and backgrounds.
The program is still being developed, but we already have some great speakers lined up - check out the NISO Plus website for more information, and follow us on Twitter (@NISOInfo) for updates as more speakers are confirmed.
