    Posted Tue September 23, 2025 06:13 AM

    Greetings

We are seeking nominations, including self-nominations, for a new Editor-in-Chief for the award-winning GW Journal of Ethics in Publishing (GWJEP).

The EIC sets the editorial vision for the GW Journal of Ethics in Publishing and works with Publishing Graduate Program student leadership and committees to develop peer review strategy, work with peer reviewers, solicit and oversee submissions, maintain high editorial quality, and collaborate with faculty and students of the Graduate Program in Publishing at the George Washington University.

GWJEP is a student-managed publication, led by a managing editor and five committees: Editorial, Content, Marketing, E-Publishing, and Strategy. GWJEP is affiliated with the GW Ethics in Publishing Conference.

GW Publishing provides for a competitive stipend for the Editor-in-Chief. The position includes the opportunity, although not the obligation, of a part-time faculty role in the Master of Professional Studies in Publishing program, College of Professional Studies, George Washington University.

We anticipate the EIC's term to be two years, commencing January 2026, with the possibility for an additional two-year renewal.

GWJEP is published by the Graduate Program in Publishing, College of Professional Studies, George Washington University, and is sponsored by the Society for Scholarly Publishing. GWJEP received a Gold Award for Excellence in Student Journals at the SSP's inaugural EPIC Awards. GWJEP also received a Bronze award at the AM&P 2023 Excel Awards.

We are seeking nominations, including self-nominations, through October 30, 2025 via this nomination form

Nominees will be invited to provide a statement of interest and CV by November 15.

See the Information for Authors/Call for Papers

We welcome articles, case studies, reviews and more from the publishing community.

We also welcome volunteers for peer review; those interested in serving as peer reviewers for the journal can sign up via this form.

To date, GWJEP has published four volumes. Inaugural EIC Randy Townsend, MPS, led the journal from 2020-2022. EIC Lois Jones, MPS, has led the journal from 2022-2025.

Feel free to email me with questions about the journal and the role.

    John
